While it may be the middle of winter, Kita Alexander is transporting us back to the heat of the summer with her dreamy new single “7 Minutes In Heaven”. This nostalgic leaning track follows in the footsteps of “Queen” and her sold out headlining tour, and offers a visual aesthetic of sun-soaked days on the beach, drinking with friends, and experiencing those coming-of-age moments that will one day feature in a supercut where your reminiscing on how things used to be.
Written as an ode to herself to live in the moment, “7 Minutes In Heaven” portrays a best-friend letter to herself. It’s honest, intimate, and alluring as she reminds herself to let her guard down and just enjoy right now. “Just let it go. It’s only 7 minutes in heaven. And we’re high on hallucinogenic’s, and I don’t know which direction we’re heading” she sings during the floaty hook.
There is an intimacy to her songwriting and her vocal delivery which immediately pulls the listener in, and in this case encourages them to also lower their guard and sway through this moment with her.
