Chela is giving us another hard-hitting queer pop song and it’s one you’re going to find yourself obsessing over and continually pressing replay on. “Hard 4 You” is an infectiously driven pop song that comes off the back of the synth led and timely “Cool 2B Queer” which was widely praised. But there’s just something about this new track that feels extra special, and feels like it may just be the mainstream breakthrough moment for the Australian musician. 

Sonically led by this groovy guitar riff and drum beat that is reminiscent of HAIM and MUNA, she gives you this punchy pop hook that is ready to be a singalong moment in her live set. There’s a freeing element to the production which complements the queer love story that is showcased in the lyrics, and we ultimately need more queer pop songs like this in our lives. 

This is a song all about love, lust, and the simple craving to be in someone’s orbit as you are getting to know them. It’s simple, honest, and very relatable. “When it comes to heart, I won’t be soft” she confesses before later proclaiming “I’m sorry if I keep losing myself over you. Cause baby when I fall yeah, I fall hard, I fall harder than I’d like to”.
