SINGLE REVIEW: Del Water Gap – All We Ever Do Is Talk

Del Water Gap is continuing to win over audiences with his introspective, reflective, and euphoric leaning tracks. The musical project of Holden Jaffe will be releasing his highly anticipated sophomore album “I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left” on September 29 which follows his praised 2021 debut self-titled album.

Lead single “All We Ever Do Is Talk” kicks things off with a cinematic alt-pop soundscape that is swooping and anthemic. It’s a journey track through and through which captivates the listener immediately and takes them on a nostalgic tinged exploration. Opening with moody guitars and drums, the song build into this airy production in the chorus that is reminiscent of Spacey Jane and Jeremy Zucker. After a first listen, you will be simply obsessed.

Exploring the beginning moments of a relationship, this song captures the melancholy and nostalgia within the realisation that this rush is only temporary and won’t last forever. It’s an honest truth which is quite harsh, but it’s also a beautiful reminder to live in the present. “To meeting you at the hotel, 3AM. Pull the belt from your robe, pushing me on the bed. It was good, it was good, didn’t know what it meant. Will we ever get that feeling again?” he sings.

Del Water Gap is heading to Australia later this month for a coveted set at Splendour In The Grass as well as headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne.
