SINGLE REVIEW: Gia Woods – Gia Would

Gia Woods, would. Yeah, that is a bit of a mouthful isn’t it? But it’s also a very smart play on words that rising Persian-American artist Gia Woods has implemented in her new pop-banger. “Gia Would”. Taken from her forthcoming EP “Your Engine” which is slated for release later this year, this track screams camp, experimentalism, and pure pop escapism.

The confident track is all about the dark side we all have inside of us that wants to go a little insane over a breakup, over react at something, and strut into every room like you’re the main character. It’s a baddie anthem, and we are all here for it. “ I bet you wish you could do what Gia would” she things.

Soaked in dark pop production she hits the listener with pulsating and sharp synths and beats that give you a full punch to the chest. Every time the chorus comes in you’ll find yourself immediately whipping your hair and expressing yourself in any way you find best. It takes you back to early 2010’s pop music, and even references Lady Gaga’s “Love Game” with a mention of “disco stick” and Gaga’s name.

“Gia Would” is a big slay for Gia Woods. It’s a pop song that immediately captures your attention, and also stamps her brand all over it that you won’t forget her anytime soon.
