Put On These Records… – G Flip, Grace Enger, Daniel Seavey, The Rions

G Flip – DRUMMER

It’s been three years in-between records, but G Flip has finally shared their anthemic and bold sophomore record “DRUMMER”. This record hears the Australian musician reintroduce their pop-rock sonic with an angsty and vulnerable mix that elevates their artistry from their debut and gives the listener a brand new perspective.

Throughout the 11 tracks, they give you some pure standout moments including the reflective “Rough”, the emotionally evocative “Be Your Man”, the anthemic “Worst Person Alive”, and the playful “Baked”. The record has definitely been made with their live show in mind as they prepare for their biggest headlining tour yet. The energy is eclectic and bold, and will have the crowd passionately singing along from the opening moment right through to the encore.

MUST LISTEN TRACKS: Rough, Be Your Man, Worst Person Alive, Baked

Grace Enger – Well Here We Are

Introducing Grace Enger, your new favourite artist. If you’re a fan of Maisie Peters, Olivia Rodrigo and Chelsea Cutler, then Grace’s debut EP is going to a) ruin you, and b) make you an instant fan. “Well Here We Are” is a vulnerable, beautiful and emotionally evocative body of work that takes you into her inner monologue. With notable production from her and Alexander 23 on majority of the record, she’s created this intimate soundscape that tinkers the line of minimalistic and sudden theatrics. The storytelling is beautiful and feels like the true centrepiece of these magical and raw songs.

MUST LISTEN TRACKS: Bad Guy, When It Was Over, The Cut

Daniel Seavey – Dancing In The Dark

Daniel Seavey is taking back his voice, and proclaiming to the world that no one owns him following winning a legal battle against his old management. His debut solo EP “Dancing In The Dark” is a body-of-work that comes from a place of darkness, but in-turn has created light with the powerful music. These experimental tracks hears the former Why Don’t We member find his own sonical perspective with hard hitting synths, heavy guitars, and infectious melodies. These tracks serve as an introduction to who Daniel Seavey is as an artist, and I’m excited to hear where he goes from here as some of the songs have a slight Dominic Fike inspiration to them.

MUST LISTEN TRACKS: Nothing Compares To You, Leave Me Alone, Runaway

The Rions – Minivan

The Rions have already established themselves as one of the most exciting up-and-coming bands in Australia right now. The Avalon-based indie pop four piece’s live show is polished, and their passionate audience can’t get enough of them with multiple sold out shows in each city on their last national run. Now they’ve finally released their debut EP “Minivan” which reassures they’re only just getting started with their take-over. “Take What You Want” and “Talking To Walls” stand strong next to lead singles “Scary Movies” and title track “Minivan” and will be big singalong moments on their next tour.
